We’re pleased to announce that IHD Care is now accepting referrals for our domiciliary care service — bringing professional, relationship-based support directly into people’s own homes.

For the past nine years, IHD Care has been providing supported living for adults with mental health needs across Berkshire. The domiciliary service extends that same approach to people who want to stay in their own home but need a reliable level of support to do so safely and comfortably.

The service is built around the individual’s routine, not ours. That might mean two visits a week to help with medication management and personal care, or several calls a day for someone with more complex needs. Hours are agreed through a proper assessment, and they flex as circumstances change. There’s no one-size-fits-all package — the support is shaped around what the person actually needs.

All support workers are locally based, trained, and vetted. We’re deliberate about matching people to a consistent worker rather than sending whoever’s available. Familiarity matters in care. When someone knows the person coming through the door, the support is more effective and the person receiving it feels more at ease.

“A lot of people we speak to don’t want to leave their home, and they shouldn’t have to,” said our Managing Director. “This service means we can support people in the place that matters most to them, with the same quality of care we provide in our homes.”

The service is open to referrals from CMHTs, hospital discharge teams, social workers, GPs, probation, and families. Individuals can also refer themselves. We respond to all referrals within 24 hours, and there’s no lengthy form to fill in before you can speak to someone — call us and we’ll talk it through.
